An experiment was carried out during 1999–2002 at Ludhiana, to work out the agronomic requirements of taro [Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schott]. The results revealed that crop should be sown in the first fortnight of February at 45 cm x 20 cm or 60 cm x 15 cm. The crop should be applied 50 kg N/ha. The crop did not respond to phosphorus application.
