Abstract

An experiment was conducted at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) research farm, New Delhi, during the rainy (kharif) season of 2019, to find out the effect of precision nitrogen (N) and water management on growth and productivity of maize (Zea mays L.) grown under different crop-establishment techniques The precision N and water management significantly affected cobs/plant, cob length, cob girth, grains/cob, grain weight/cob and yield in maize grown under conservation agriculture (CA). The higher grain yield was recorded with the application of 75% N basal + remaining N dose as per Green SeekerTM (GS) recommendation (6.9 t/ha) and where irrigation was applied at 25% depletion of available soil moisture (6.36 t/ha), respectively, under CA.
