Panchagavya (PG) is an organic formulation prepared from the different byproducts of cow which has been extensively utilized as manure since ancient times. To our knowledge, the first attempt was made during 2019 at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, to assess the metabolites, metabolomic pathways, functional groups present in Panchagavya besides physiochemical properties and microbial load were also assessed. The analysis reveals the presence of essential macro (N, P, K), secondary (Ca, Mg, S, Na) and micronutrients (Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn) that could promote plant growth. Microbial analysis revealed the presence of higher-colony forming units. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis showed the presence of alkanes, primary amides, aromatic compounds, alcohols, nitro compounds and phenols. We identified 67 bio active metabolites that revealed the presence of various amino acids, vitamins, growth- regulators like gibberellins, terpenoids and 8 metabolic pathways. In conclusion, we identified characteristic metabolites and pathway which could be further studied to isolate active principle of the metabolite and their exact mechanism of action in various plant metabolism.
