Abstract

A field study was carried out during the winter (rabi) season of 2019–20 at the Lovely Professional University Phagwara, Punjab, to assess the efficiency of biofertilizers and GA3 on growth, quality, and yield-attributing traits of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.). The experiment composed of 4 varieties and 11 treatments, consisting of various combinations of gibberelic acid (GA3) and biofertilizers. The results revealed that, out of the 4 varieties, 1Kufri Jyoti1 showed significant response to gA3 @ 2.5 g/litre + Azotobacter + vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae (VAM), giving the maximum tuber yield/plot. The results also showed that foliar application of GA3 along with ridge application of azotobacter and VAM had significant positive impact on height, number of tubers, tuber weight and tuber yield/plant.
