Abstract

Fourteen cottonseed (Gossypium hirsutum L.) genotypes were assessed for the biochemical constituents. Genotypes Pusa-321, LH-1912 and Vikas exhibited highest values for seed index, hull content and kernel percentage, respectively. Seed meal of LH-1899 recorded highest protein content, RS-2013 and Vikas highest methionine and tryptophan, respectively. The genotype CNH-120 was found with highest oil (44.34%). Highest values for nutrional quality index and oleic acid were in seed oil of F-1974 and linoleic acid in CA-899.
