Abstract

Among six-rowed barley genotypes, K445–180 showed highest starch content (73.08%) alongwith predicted extract (76.96%), insoluble carbohydrate (8.62%) and protein (7.88%). However, among two-rowed genotypes, K144–56 exhibited superior values of starch content (71.86%), predicted extract (83.74%) with lower values of protein (8.16%) and insoluble carbohydrate (5.11%). Significant positive correlation of starch with predicted extract was observed in two-rowed genotypes only. In both types of barley genotypes, significant negative correlation of insoluble carbohydrate with predicted extract was noticed.
