Accumulation of β-N-Oxalyl Amino Alanine in Lathyrus during Podding and Maturation

Abstract

The accumulation of BOAA was studied at four stages of podding and two stages of maturity in low and high BOAA genotypes. The major BOAA was synthesized and accumulated during development and enlargement of pods, which however declined during maturity. High BOAA variety Pusa 24 accumulated more BOAA in seed during podding as compared to the other two varieties.
