Abstract

An experiment was conducted during rabi 2004–05 at two locations i.e. Crop Research Farm, Nawabganj and NARP Research farm, Daleepnagar under C. S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur with the objective to assess the relative performance of linseed genotypes on these locations. At Nawabganj Farm the pH of experimental field was 8.0, whereas at Daleepnagar it was 9.8 and Electrical Conductivity of both the locations were < 4 mmhos/cm. Twelve genotypes of linseed were sown at each location in Randomized Block Design with three replications. The seed yield, oil and protein contents were reduced drastically under Daleepnagar by 80, 6.2 and 9.2 per cent, respectively. On the other hand the linoleic acid increased by 10.51 per cent while linolenic acid was decreased by 0.75 per cent at Daleepnagar. The ratio of PUFA and MUFA was 2.69 and 2.90 and ratio of linoleic to linolenic acid was 0.24 and 0.27 under Nawabganj and Daleepnagar, respectively.
