Abstract

Variability in seed physico-chemical properties of twenty-one genotypes of Jatropha curcas collected under National Network on Integrated Development on Jatropha was studied. All the seed sources of J. curcas showed significant difference in physical properties of seed except for L/B ratio, however significant differences were recorded for oil content, cetane number and free fatty acid content of oil. Hence, the accessions of J. curcas tested could be the potential source of raw material for quality biodiesel production.
