Abstract

Effluents of electroplating industry adversely affected the growth of the tobacco plants in terms of plant height and certain important metabolic parameters such as total chlorophyll, carotenoid, protein and sugar concentration while activities of antioxidant enzymes viz., catalase and peroxidase increased. Activity of lipid peroxidation also progressively increased at increasing doses of effluents.
