Triphala, an Ayurvedic herbal combination with equal amounts of Bibhitaki, Haritaki, and Amalaki fruits has been widely recognized for its broad-spectrum therapeutic potential. This review explores Triphala's phytochemical composition and pharmacological function against various health complications, including metabolic syndrome, oxidative stress-related diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, inflammatory conditions, neurological disorders, cardiac dysfunction and microbial infections. Bioactive components such as polyphenols, flavonoids, gallic acid and tannins contribute to its diverse medicinal applicability. Triphala is a tridoshic rasayana that balances and rejuvenates the three constitutional aspects of human existence. Despite its extensive medicinal properties, further clinical studies and molecular approaches are essential to validate its potential and mechanism of action. In Indian medicine, the powdered concoction known as ‘Triphala’ is widely used. This review emphasizes Triphala's significance in traditional medicine and its potential integration into modern therapeutic strategies.
