Abstract

The association of benzoic acid derivatives such as 2,4-dichlorobenzoic and 2,4-dichloro-5-nitrobenzoic acids was studied from the point of view of conductance measurements at different solvent composition of acetonitrile-water mixtures and at different temperatures. 2,4-Dichlorobenzoic acid was found to undergo an association process more than 2,4-dichloro-5-nitrobenzoic acid. The data were analyzed to calculate conductance and thermodynamic parameters.
