Abstract

We present the synthesis of the 3,6-dimethanal-1,2,3,4-tetroxane molecule by oxidation of 1,1,3,3-tetramethoxipropane with oxygen peroxide in presence of concentrated sulfuric acid, following the Bayer and Viller method modified by Jorge et al. We interpret experimental data and we also report the assignments of the spectroscopic vibrational spectrum.
