Abstract

The inhibiting property of the five compounds 4-(benzylideneamino)-4-(P-chlorobenzylideneamino)- 4-(p-bromobenzylideneamino) 4-(pmethoxybenzylidene-amino)-4-(p-nitrobenzylideneamino)-3-hydrazino-5-thio-1, 2, 4-triazole towards protection of steel and aluminium substrates from marine corrosion has been tested by two methods. First through their mixing in polymeric coatings and immersed the steel and aluminium panels covered with these coatings in seawater medium. The second method was studying the prevention of steel corrosion in the media ethanol: seawater and methylisobutyl ketone xylene containing different concentrations of the prepared compounds.
