Abstract

A series of novel schiff's bases of N-aryl anthranilic acid derivatives were prepared by the reaction (condensation) of p-substituted N-aryl anthranilic acid derivatives were synthesized via Ullmann condensation of O-Chlorobenzoic acid with various p-substituted aniline in the presence of cupric oxide (catalyst) and anhydrous potassium carbonate (for removal of hydrogen halide formed during reaction). The synthesized compounds were evaluated the following biological activities Anti-inflammatory, Analgesic activity, Anti-bacterial activity. The N-aryl anthranilic acid derivatives synthesiszed were IIa, IIb,IIc, IId, IIe, IIg and IIh. The structure of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR, 1HNMR.
