In India, youth unemployment is a major issue, and educated youth, especially women, bear the brunt of it. The psychological effect of unemployment affects the family dynamics and has a significant impact on parent-youth relationships. The complex relationship between the unemployed youth and the family ties is examined in this study, with particular emphasis on the emotional attitudes of unemployed tribal youths. Examining both positive (affectionate support, communication, and understanding) and negative (rejection, criticism, and emotional distance) feelings, the study examines how unemployment influences emotional bonds, mutual respect, and overall family cohesion. The study, which uses both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, captures the lived experiences of tribal youth navigating the economic instability in their sociocultural environment, characterised by their tribal family configurations.
