Abstract

Spatial variation of agricultural complexes in the context of an agricultural formation is not uncommon in the Cooch Behar district, since climatic or soil region has its own distinctive regional characterization of agricultural landscape. The main essence of this paper is to study the agricultural activity and cropping pattern in relation to the influence of climate & soil texture in Cooch Behar district. Though the district fall in the category of Himalayan Tarai region with a similar relief but it is to be marked that the said district has its own assemblage of distinct agricultural activity throughout the year in relation to monsoonal character and existence of sand, silt and clay in the soil.
