Abstract

In sorghum, marker-trait associations were studied for 14 agronomic traits using 107 RAPD markers with a set of 40 sorghum accessions. Using simple linear and multiple regressions, each of the 14 traits was regressed on all 107 available polymorphic RAPD markers. A total of 70 markers gave significant associations with at least one of the 14 traits, either with linear or with multiple regression and therefore may prove useful for marker-assisted breeding after necessary validation.
