The experimental studies of coal combustion residues with respect to bio-available (DTPA) extractable elements and available NPK from three Thermal Power Stations of Eastern India under Damodar Valley Corporation and one fluidized bed combustion plant under TISCO are presented here. Bio-available (DTPA) extractable elements such as Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn, Pb, Ni, Cr, Cd and Co were studied. The aim of this work was to provide the basic scientific data for CCR utilization in varied fields especially agriculture and related uses and thereby reducing the impact of CCR generation to some extent. The study has shown that CCR contains micro nutrients as well as NPK elements and as such it has the potential use in the agriculture sector.
