Abstract

The present study attempts to evaluate the studies made in the domain of energy use in agricultural production. More precisely, it makes an attempt to critically evaluate the studies after the advent of green revolution in 1966, which made a breakthrough in India's agricultural sector. It is pertinent to mention that the scrutiny of the studies is confined to Indian context. It doesn't focus on the studies made in other areas of agricultural production. In addition the study has identified a few new research areas in energy consumption in agricultural production.
