Abstract

This work presents an implementation of a combined boundary element finite element analysis. An indirect discrete boundary element method, where the fundamental solutions are employed as the expansion functions and their singularities are located outside the domain of the problem is used for the coupling scheme. A comparison is then made between the finite element, boundary element and coupled method as applied to two dimensional elasticity problems.
