Software Defined Radio (SDR) is technique that relies on adapting the hardware functionality using software in real time. It imposes a huge demand on hardware. Digital design techniques have made SDR reality. Digital Down Converter (DDC) is the digital front end of the receiver that bridges the RF and baseband processing. It is one of the critical functionalities because it has to run at a relative high sample rate and has to provide high resolution. The common approaches for designing the Digital Down Converters (DDC) are ROM table approach or Digital Down Sampling based DDC and Coordinate Rotation Digital Computer (CORDIC) based DDC. The paper deals with the performance analysis of the methods of implementing DDC for SDR
