Abstract

This paper is devoted to the study of two dimensional free and forced convection flow and heat transfer in a vertical wavy porous channel with travelling thermal waves. The governing equations for the hydromagnetic fluid flow and the heat transfer are solved using perturbation technique subject to the relevant boundary conditions with the assumption that the solution consists of a mean part and a perturbed part. The effect of magnetic parameter (H), heat source/sink parameter (α), wall wavinesss parameter (λx), porosity parameter (Da) and free convection parameter (G) on the streamline pattern, velocity and temperature profiles are shown graphically. Special attention is given on the characteristic features of the flow, heat transfer, stream line pattern, skin friction (τ) and the Nusselt number (Nu) at the wavy walls.
