The mixing process of turbulent streams within a venturi jet mixer due to single traverse jet is analysed in this paper. The results of the experimentation and simulation shows that venturi jet mixer with jet provided at center of throat, near the inner wall give superior mixing quality as compared to other configurations. Further analysis were done on the different venturi jet mixer configurations to investigate the effect of the venturi dimensions, the jet diameter, the volumetric flow ratio, Reynolds number and jet-to-pipe momentum ratio on the mixing parameter. The venturi jet mixer setup with jet near the wall shows there is significant reduction in power requirement and increase in the mixing parameter.
