Abstract

An empirical correlation is presented for calculating the lower heating value of (LHV) of gasses obtained from the gasification of the selected Eucalyptus woody biomass. Polynomial, power and exponential equations are considered. The parameter process temperature is played a vital role. Relating with the process temperature the volumetric composition of the gas discharged by the gasifiers is collected and these experimental data is interpolated. On the statistical analysis, it emerged that all the four equations were within the temperature range considered; the Exponential correlation was the one came closest to the experimental values.
