Among the aesthetic features that influence the suitability of stone for dimension stone production is colour. This plays major role in pricing of any given stone in world market. It was observed that the conventional method being used in colour characterization such as visual inspection, mineralogy and polished method can be misleading. Using this new approach of colour characterization results in effective colour characterization based on spectrum of Red, Green and Blue (RGB) obtained. Oore granite was classified as multi colour granite as a result of multiple peak shown by the colour spectrum. Supare granite was classified as one colour granite as a result of single peak displayed by the colour spectrum. The results also shows that mode RGB value was appropriate for naming one colour stone while mean RGB value was appropriate for naming of multi colour stone
