Abstract

In this paper we propose a novel design of patch antenna to improve its directive properties. Highly directive radiations are obtained by using Split Ring Resonator (SRR) Metamaterial. SRR Metamaterial is considered as a structure which confines the emitted radiations from source in a very narrow beam. It is the refractive index of the metamaterial which is responsible for confining the radiations from the source. We have found the directivity of patch antenna with and without SRR Metamaterial using Anasoft HFSS software. Our result shows that directivity of patch antenna has improved by 38.40% by using SRR Metamaterial at 29.45 G Hz.
