Abstract

A method to design a pressure swirl atomizer is presented considering the ideal flow and viscous flow. The basic design dimensions of atomizers are presented in the form of theoretical and empirical approach. The designed methodology of combining the theoretical and empirical approach is presented and from that the pressure swirl atomizes with spray cone angles of 60°, 90°, and 120° are developed for application in tubular type combustion chamber of micro gas turbine.
