Abstract

In the present work, an experiment has been done to investigate the effect of sheet thickness on forming limiting diagram, Forming limit diagram have been experimentally evaluated for AISI-1008 steel (HR – Grade) with the different thickness of 1.00mm, 1.20mm, 1.25mm, 1.50mm and 2.00mm for constant Blank dia. constant of 100.00mm. The test was performed with the help of the Ericson Test Setup. With the help of the Forming Limiting Diagrams of AISI – 1008 steel sheets for press forming operation under different strain combination were examined. The chemical composition of the steel sheet was examined on the Spectrometer and Mechanical property was examined on the Uniaxial Tensile Testing. Forming Limiting Diagram for all of the five thicknesses were studied and compared the effect of the steel sheet thickness on the Forming Liming Diagram.
