This paper presents a new method for the reduction of high order linear interval systems to overcome the drawbacks and limitations of some of the available methods. This method is computationally simple and guarantees the stability of the original system in its reduced order models unlike the other methods. The proposed Impulse energy Routh Approximation Method (IRAM) is based on retaining the Impulse energy of the original continuoustime interval system in the reduced interval model. The method is illustrated through typical numerical examples available in international literature.
