Direct torque control (DTC) of Switched reluctance motor is known to have simple control structure with comparable performance to that of field oriented control techniques. Two major problems that are usually associated with DTC drives are switching frequency that varies with operating condition and high torque ripple. To solve these problems discrete space vector modulation-DTC is presented in this paper. Having large number of available voltage vector, smaller torque ripple with constant switching frequency operation is achieved. The simulation results show that flux and torque ripples are reduced with constant frequency.
