This paper aims at analyzing the possible traffic disruption within Algiers city in case of severe earthquake. This analysis is focused on the disturbance related to damage on bridges and roads. The evaluation of damage probability of bridges is carried out by applying HAZUS-99 methodology [1]; a method for seismic risk assessment, in particular the evaluation of damage probabilities. The results obtained will hopefully provide urban managers and authorities of the city reflection on the risks incurred taking into account the possible problems of traffic in case of the loss of critical roads functionality.
