Abstract

This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation to evaluate the effects of GFRP wrapping on the structural behaviour of corrosion damaged concrete columns of size 150 mm x 900 mm. The columns were subjected to different degrees of accelerated corrosion. The damaged columns were wrapped with GFRP. The test results show a marked enhancement in ultimate strength by 30% and ductility by 110%. The strength and ductility of the GFRP confined corrosion-damaged columns increase with increasing wrap thickness.
