In this paper, an application of vision system to object manufacturing is investigated. The aim is to assess the potential of employing vision data in the manufacturing task by application of reverse engineering. A methodology is adopted to achieve object contour path. The methodology starts by capturing the image data of the required object and finds object contour data. A proposed approach is used to decompose acquired object contour data into basic-type entities namely lines and arcs. The acquired set of entities is then used to automatically generate CNC machine codes for machining operation. Results showed the validity of the developed approach hence open the way for wider applications.
