Abstract

This paper emphasizes on the dynamic modeling of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) of 100 KW capacity which can be used locally as well as in Distributed power generation. The SOFC system is chosen because of its merit to tolerate relatively impure fuel. The model reflects the electrochemical reaction dynamics and major voltage losses in SOFC along with temperature variation which influences the open circuit voltage of the fuel cell. The flow of oxygen and hydrogen for the fuel cell system has been investigated. The model has been simulated using SIMULINK in MATLAB.
