The study of two dimensional steady free convective and mass transfer flow of an electrically conducting viscous fluid through a porous medium bounded by two stationary infinite vertical porous plates has been presented. A uniform magnetic field is assumed to be applied transversely to the direction of the flow. The plates are subjected to a constant normal suction/injection velocity. The governing equations are solved by regular perturbation technique. The expressions for the velocity field, temperature field, species concentration, skin friction and the coefficient of heat transfer (in terms of Nusselt numbers) at the walls are obtained and their numerical values are demonstrated in graphs and tables. The effects of Hartman number M, the Reynolds number R, Schmidt number S and permeability parameter α on the flow and mass transfer are discussed.
