Imperial smelting furnace (ISF) slag from primary extraction of Zinc is a metal bearing slag with traces of heavy metals like Lead and Zinc. ISF slag was used to replace sand by volume in cement concrete. The replacement was done in stages of twenty percent till complete replacement. In this part of the research, the concrete with ISF slag was assessed for durability aspects like water absorption, sorptivity, water permeability and chloride ion diffusion. The performance of ISF slag concrete was compared with control concrete mix. The results indicated that there is improvement in the durability properties assessed as the ISF slag content in the fine aggregate increased.
