Abstract

A dynamic model of machine subjected to control must be known in order to understand and design vector controlled drives. This paper presents the detailed dynamic modeling and vector control of Doubly Fed Induction Generator. The mathematical equations for the dynamic model is developed using space vector theory. The vector control provides decoupled control of active and reactive power of doubly fed induction generator. The control is exercised through rotor in line voltage oriented reference frame using proportional-integral controller in both, sub synchronous speed and super synchronous speed modes of operation. The performances of the doubly fed induction generator are validated through MATLAB simulation.
