The problem of heat and mass transfer on natural convection adjacent to a vertical plate in a porous medium with high porosity is analyzed taking into account Dufour, Soret and viscous dissipation effects. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into ordinary ones using suitable transformations and the resulting equations are then solved numerically. The solution is found to be dependent on the governing parameters including porous parameter, porosity, buoyancy ratio, Prandtl number, Schmidt number, Dufour number and Soret number. Representative results are presented for the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles as well as the local Skin-friction coefficient, local Nusselt number and local Sherwood number.
