In this communication, the techno-economic analysis of double slope active solar still under natural circulation mode has been carried out on the basis of concept of life cycle cost analysis. On the basis of experimental data obtained during the year 2008, the costs of distilled water and pay back time have been calculated. It has been observed that the cost of distilled water produced from double slope active solar still under natural circulation mode on the basis of energy analysis is Rs. 0.35 per liter. The cost of water produced on the basis of exergy analysis is very high in comparison to the cost of water on the basis of energy analysis. When the distilled water is sold at the market rate, the pay back period has been found as 1.55 years.
