In this paper a comprehensive review is carried out on spread spectrum communication emphasizing on spreading codes investigating the correlation property with minimum side lobe for efficient encryption of wide band CDMA systems.. Encryption of the speech signals to reduce residual intelligence in CDMA cellular Networks are done by using distinct spreading codes such as pseudo-random and orthogonal sequences. Pseudo-random sequences are at the heart of cryptography and identity verification which have each contributed countless methods for generating long pseudo-random codes. In this paper the theoretical background for direct sequence CDMA systems and description of the main characteristics of the maximal length, Gold, Barker, and Kasami sequences has been presented. A improved model is suggested and developed enhancing the correlation property for better antijam characteristics
