This paper will deals with modeling and simulation of Fiber Bragg Grating and application of FBG as strain sensor. The modeling is done using Transfer Matrix Approximation Method (TMM) modeling technique.The spectral reflectivity of the FBG give the determination of reflection and transmission loss in grating. This losses depend on the value of different parameter of FBG. This paper gives the simulation result and analysis for strain sensor, the sensor based on FBG is low cost. The important properties of FBG also described in this paper.
