Abstract

In the very fast moving world, different products are being released by the manufacturers every day to satisfy the needs of the customer. Any manufacturer would want his product to be of high quality and at the same time he/she has to deliver the required number of products to the customers within short duration of time. To aid the manufacturer, computational techniques like MRP (Material Requirement Planning) can be very useful. MRP is important to ensure material availability, to find out the number of parts, components and materials required to produce each end item and also to provide the schedule when each of these materials, parts and components should be ordered or produced. By using MRP techniques we can manufacture and release the demanded products in an easy manner in today's market. Crane hook as a hoisting fixture designed to engage a ring or link of a lifting chain has considerable importance in the manufacturing industry and any customer or manufacturer would like the product to satisfy the twin objectives of very high quality and very fast production. In this paper, we have discussed how to manufacture the crane hook products in a nippy manner and send it to the market as soon as possible. We have enunciated the discussion by providing an overview of crane hook and its parts and further illustrated our scheduled lead time, net requirements of the product crane hook and schedule of order release chart. We believe that this MRP would definitely suit the manufacturing of crane hook to satisfy both the needs of quality and very fast delivery.
