Abstract

In the present work, a virtual instrumentation for density measurement of liquid under test is developed in the laboratory using DATAQ 148 data acquisition card along with IBM compatible PC operated under windows 7. A simple and inexpensive circuit has been designed to amplify the signal received load cell and is captured by DATAQ 148 card in the PC. Powerful and effective data acquisition software at the back end has been written in C/VISUAL BASIC that reads the equivalent voltage of the mass of the density bottle with liquid. User friendly and interactive GUI screen has been designed in VISUAL BASIC at the front end to accomplish the data acquisition, parameter setting, file manipulation, control and synchronization of the other functions involved in the measurements. The volume and mass of the density bottle is known and the software directly displays the density of the liquid under test.
