Abstract

A microstrip patch antenna is designed, fabricated on FR 4 dielectric material and a study of patch antenna parameters is made. The proposed antenna is suitable for various applications such as WiMax, RADAR, fixed satellite services, WLAN, satellite communication covering S band frequency is presented in this paper. The measurement results show that the proposed antenna, achieved a compactness of 77%, bandwidth of 260 MHz (VSWR < 2:1) and moderate gain of 2 dB with omnidirectional radiation patterns across the entire operating frequency band.
