A process for making an amorphous Sodium Aluminosilicate colloid at 773 K temperature described in this paper. The synthesized material is responsible for the sorption capacity for the ionizable groups present in the colloid. The synthesized Sodium Aluminosilicate colloid was found to be pure phase with no crystalline impurities and was characterized by different techniques such as XRD, FT-IR, BET, pHpzc, site density and TEM. The powder was characterized by XRD. The signal of different bonds like Si-O-Al & others were analyzed by FT-IR analysis. Zeta Potential measurement was performed to see the behavior of surface, consequently to find out the pHpzc (point of zero charge) of the colloid. Total active surface area was determined by titrating the sample both in acid & base to find out the [H+]sat & [OH−]sat respectively. Surface area was determined to know the available surface for sorption. Study of surface morphology & structure of material transmission electron microscopy (TEM) has been carried out.
