A field experiment was conducted during 2009–10 at Research Farm, Project Coordinating Unit (Sesame and Niger), Jawarharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidhyalaya, Jabalpur (M.P.) with 8 treatment combinations consisting of different nutrient management viz. T1-Control, T2-100% RDF, T3-50% RDF + 50% N through FYM, T4-100% Recommended N through FYM, T5-50% RDF + 50% N through VC, T6-100% Recommended N through VC, T7-50% RDF + 50% N through NOC, T8-100% Recommended N through NOC in a randomized block design with three replications. Along 30 cm row spacing test varieties TKG-22 was sown in July, 2010 with fertilizers application Application of 100% RDF through inorganics recorded the maximum NUE (84.66%). With regard to the organic sources 100% level of N through NOC recorded maximum NUE (78.53%) followed by vermin-compost and FYM sole (77.31%). Numerically higher values of NUE's were observed with 50% RDF + 50% N through NOC (83.41%) followed by 50% RDF + 50% N through VC (82.19%) and 50% RDF + 50% N through FYM (79.75%) over control. Any marked deviation was not seen in the physico-chemical properties of soil after experimentation of sesame due to application of different treatments consisting of organic, inorganic and INM tested during the investigation.
