Jawhar is one of the most remote areas in the Palghar district of Maharashtra and inhabited mostly by the tribal peoples. Agriculture is main occupation of these people. Among various agroforestry systems, agri-silviculture system is most popular in the study area. In this paper, the researchers had tried to understand the information seeking behaviour of farmers following agroforestry systems in Jawhar tahsil. Here an attempt was made to understand the information on needs of farmers, sources and channels used by them for gathering information about agroforestry. The data were collected from 120 farmers of two selected villages in Jawhar tahsil for the purpose of the study. Farmers in locality, family members, relatives and neighbours were found very popular in sharing information among them about the agroforestry. Among mass media channels, radio, television and newspapers found to be popular in providing information to the farmers of Jawhar tahsil of Palghar district of Maharashtra.
