Abstract

To study the absorption of amino acids in jejunum region in ruminants led soybean protein subjected to physico-chemical treatment,an in vitro experiment was set sip using everted sacs of intestinal segment from jejunum region. Protein hydrolysate from soybean cake untreated or treated with heat (140°C for 4 h), formaldehyde (l%w/w of protein) and tannic acid (10% w/w) prepared using pepsin and pancreatic was the substrate for absorption. The data indicated that % absorption of amino acid nitrogen was significantly higher (P<0.01) in treated groups than that in untreated. Formaldehyde treatment depicting maximum. It was hence, concluded that either of the three treatments enhanced the absorption of amino acids, though among the three formaldehyde treatment was the best.
