Abstract

Sixteen male murrah buffalo calves (109±12.8 kg) were randomly divided into 4 groups and were fed on urea supplemented wheat straw (T1), urea supplemented wheat straw with hentonite (T2), green maize (T3) and green sorghum (T4). DMI was higher In green fed (T3 and T4) as compared to wheat straw (T1 and T2) fed animals. Digestibility of DM, OM, and CF was lower in T2. DDMI and DOMI were similar in T1 and T2 but more in T4 as compared to T3 Supplementation of urea supplemented wheat straw with hentonite (T2) significantly Improved N utilization.
